Don't know were this guy belongs(another planet maybe) but I found it climbing up some timber on an old doorframe on my shed after recent rains. I think it's a slime mold, a mixomycete belonging to the Phylum Mixomycota. These weird life forms are closer

We're going to the coast tomorrow where there should be some washed-up seaweed. If we can legally collect it, I would like to try to make a small bag worth of kelp meal. Has anyone dried and ground sea weed/kelp for the garden?
