I picked up a bag of (dry) kelp meal for 12.99, someone had told me it was great. I was thinking of throwing it in the MM (according to directions on the bag, of course). Anyone have any opinions about kelp meal?
Has anyone given their dog Kelp seaweed? It is meant to be good for dogs with skin problems, itchy skin, excessive moulting, cracked claws and dandruff. Also meant to be good for the digestive system and for any dogs that have pigment loss.
Any suggestions on a substitute for greensand? Leaf mold, can I substitute compost?
I am trying to get 5 different types of compost for Mel's Mix. Would this mix be okay? Cow manure, chicken manure, mushroom compost, bat guano, worm castings or kelp if I can't get the castings?

We're going to the coast tomorrow where there should be some washed-up seaweed. If we can legally collect it, I would like to try to make a small bag worth of kelp meal. Has anyone dried and ground sea weed/kelp for the garden?
